ASAP's Equine Assisted Activities program uses the unique bond between horses and humans to support the emotional, physical, and social development of at-risk and disabled youth in our community. Our all-volunteer team works alongside participants to create safe, meaningful experiences.

What Is Equine Assisted Activities?

Equine Assisted Activities (EAA) encompasses a range of horse-related activities — from grooming and groundwork to riding — that are facilitated by trained volunteers and designed to achieve therapeutic and educational goals for participants.

Who We Serve

Our program is open to at-risk youth, individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities, and others who may benefit from equine-assisted experiences. We work with referrals from schools, social service agencies, and community organizations.

Our Horses

The retired Standardbred racehorses in our program are carefully selected for their calm temperament and patience. Their gentle nature makes them ideal partners for participants of all abilities and experience levels.
